LSSA members meet at RAF Club to tackle key legal tech issues

LSSA members gathered this week at the RAF Club in Piccadilly for a productive meeting focused on the future of legal technology in the UK.

The agenda covered several key topics, including the government’s smart data initiative and how it may affect the legal sector. Members also reviewed current PR and marketing activity, and discussed the development of a new survey aimed at understanding how legal professionals across the UK are using legal tech in their day-to-day work.

The group exchanged insights on the growing role of AI in legal services, explored its practical impacts, and shared updates on two key LSSA white papers in progress – one focused on cybersecurity and the other on ESG.

A session was also dedicated to the use of legal technology in legal aid, an area of growing relevance.

The meeting brought together a diverse mix of attendees, representing both long-established industry leaders and newer, specialist legal tech companies. This diversity – across gender, ethnicity, background and business scale – reflects the broader transformation happening in the sector.

With strong engagement from members and important work underway, the LSSA continues to play a central role in shaping the direction of legal technology in the UK.

The association actively welcomes new member companies looking to contribute to this work and connect with peers across the industry. If your organisation is involved in legal tech and would like to find out more about the benefits of LSSA membership, you click here.
