LSSA prize raffled for worthy cause
At Legalex earlier this year the LSSA (Legal Software Suppliers Association) ran a competition which was won by Mary Dobson, picking up a Harrod’s hamper as her prize. Mary recently donated the hamper as the top raffle prize for the Employment Lawyers Association (UK) and raised almost £2,000 for access to justice through Advocate.
Mary Dobson is Joint COO & Head of Fundraising and Comms for Advocate (the new name of the Bar Pro Bono Unit) which is the pro bono charity of the Bar. Advocate finds free legal help from barristers for those who need it.
Mary commented on Twitter “Back in March I won a very lovely Harrods hamper from the good people @LSSAtweet and this evening it was top prize in the raffle at the @emplawyers Annual Conference & Dinner, raising almost £2k for access to justice through @WeAreAdvocate! Thank you”
Craig Matthews, Chief Executive of the LSSA comments “We’re thrilled that Mary decided to donate her prize to such a worthy cause and that she managed to raise such a lot of money for such a good cause. Good job Mary!”
